I see Platinum Egoiste divides opinion here. For me, it’s a suble, esoteric step up from Eternity, which has been a long time staple of mine. Platinum makes me feel masculine in its sublimely detached aura of scents. Platinum Egoiste was chanel jumping on the bandwagon trend created by GIT, popularized by Cool Water and dominated by CK Eternity. Their previous release Egoiste had been released to much fanfare but that style quickly became outdated after the modern era ushered in by the 3 calonic, ozonic, frags above. Same ingredients but done differently. Since it is a EdT it doesn’t last long or project too well, but I get a few hours worth on it. As I mentioned it is pretty versatile but it’s more of a daytime fragrance and I think it smells more fit for an older male. I just 'barely' prefer Chanel Platinum-Egoiste over Eternity, but in all honesty, I might buy Eternity once my Platinum-Egoiste runs out. I cannot justify owning them at the same time as they are too similar as to be redundant.
